Introduction
I am Philip Ahn, a student at the University of Maryland, College Park. This blog is for my JOUR150 - Introduction to Mass Communications class. I am currently an undeclared major. I have a passion for the arts; especially music, photography, and film. My current professional interest is journalism.
Aspects of journalism can be found in all mediums and it is essential for journalists and current technology to work together in creating a better wired world. Technological improvements in mass-media allows for society to become better intact and more aware of what is going on in this constantly changing world.

Journalists can now report directly on the field through mobile blogging. This article (linked above) elaborates on the mobile blogging functions of Wordpress. From simple blog posts to instant voice and video posting capabilities, the possibilities are endless on the field for a journalist. These functions instantaneously connect the story between the sender and the viewer. Mobility is becoming increasingly more important for any reporter on the field and this is only a snippet of the mobile technology that is becoming available to us. The closing gap between an individual and the world is the future. This will be accomplished through the ever-growing technology we possess.
Mass-media is a huge aspect to life that many, especially in our generation, could never imagine life without. Social-networking, television, the radio, these are all a part of the mass-media. We are constantly informing ourselves through these mediums. I want to play that critical role as a journalist in delivering the message. And the technology I utilize will definitely play a critical role in how the story will be delivered and how efficiently society will receive it.
